The cost of a body piercing varies depending on the location of the body being pierced, the type of piercing and the individual piercer.
Typical costs:
A body piercing typically costs $20 to $55 for earlobes, ear cartilage or cheek.
A body piecing typically costs $30 to $65 for the eyebrow, nose, navel or nipple.
A body piercing typically costs $40 to $85 or more for a medusa (a piercing above the lip), the tongue web or the surface of the body, such as at the nape of the neck.
Body piercings are considered cosmetic and are not covered by medical insurance. However, treatment for complications from a piercing, such as infection, would usually be covered.
What should be included:
The piercing artist will disinfect the area, then use a hollow needle to pierce the skin -- or cartilage -- and then insert the body jewelry. The piercer should provide detailed aftercare instructions based on the type of piercing.
Additional costs:
Piercing costs usually include basic body jewelry, but jewelry upgrades cost extra. The body jewelry used should be made of implant-grade materials.
Discounts:
Some piercers offer discounts for multiple piercings, repeat customers or groups.
Shopping for body piercings:
Make sure the piercing studio you choose is licensed by your local health department and follows meticulous health standards -- including the use of a properly functioning autoclave machine for sterilization, use of gloves and only using equipment from individual sterilized and sealed packages. They also should never use a piercing gun, since these cannot be properly sterilized. The Association of Professional Piercers offers a detailed guide on how to choose a reputable piercer and a search-by-state function.
Tip: Once you have located a studio, ask how long the piercer has been practicing and ask to see before-and-after photographs of previous work.
Body piercing risks include: blood-borne diseases, such as hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and HIV; allergic reactions, skin infections and scars or keloids, which are bumpy areas caused by a build-up of scar tissue. Oral piercings can cause dental problems, such as damage to gum tissue or cracked teeth.

The piercing with ring costed $25, and my mom and I tipped her $15. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS TIP THEM. Only if they do a good job and keep things clean while doing it of course. This is also why you should go with a friend, so they can keep an eye on the piercer.
well i got the top of my ear...the cartlidge done while i was on vaca in utah. Got it dont at claires in the mall. She was clean and professional. Didnt hurt at all just a tiny pinch. Just the same as my lobes.

Had my ears first pierced when I was like ten. Took out early and closed up. Redone at thirteen and loved it. Double pierced when I was fifteen. And most recently got a third in my right ear. It only hurt because the lady pressed really slowly so I felt the needle puncture my skin. I want to get my cartilage and navel pierced next.
At first my first labret was on the left side but I closed it up when I though it had gone wrong..mine as well say I spent $100 bucks. Didn't hurt though, felt like a pinch. Got mines done at EXPRESSIONZ on Hampton Park Blvd/Central Ave, Md

I'm yet to see any one in these comments that has actually been pierced with proper jewelry, as the numbers simply do not add up here. For the prices mentioned, It's honestly impossible to have been pierced with quality jewelry [like anatometal, industrial strength, neometal, etc] and by a decent piercer. Look for people that are members of the APP on safepiercing.org, not some idiot that will do it for a few bucks. Read up, educate, care for your body. This is ridiculous! Also, from having worked all around the usa, prices at better piercers will usually NOT include jewelry; you will pay a basic service cost [ranging from 20 to 60$ depending on the piercing and parlor] and the jewelry of your choise. Never accept crappy steel externally threaded junk for initial piercings.
I just want to get my back dimples pierced but there hasnt been anyone on this site that has. I dont know uow much it shoupd be or which place is the best.
lip didnt hurt my friend just stuck the needlee through , and tounge she stuck it through too and it too about a day too heel it didnt hurt at all. Im 14 & got them at 13 (: im curios about getting my cheeks im worried about the pain)': buy yup.
I got a second piercing just above my original one. It doesn't hurt one bit! And I got them pierced at a kiosk in the middle of the mall. If you're scared to get them done, don't be. It's almost PAINLESS.:)

first holes barley hurt, second ones i couldnt feel anything, belly button the only thing that hurt was the clamp they used on it and bottom right lip only felt like a bee sting in my lip
I got them done back in January, they were about $180 for both and $90 for one. I was able to pay $125 for them because my friend is the one that pierced me and I had the hook up.
I had my lobes done when I was 13. At 14, I did my second lobes and helix by myself. 15, I did a third hole on my lobe, again, by myself. They didn't get infected and healed really nicely. At 17, I got my tragus and belly done. Tragus feeling was cool, I could hear the cartilage being punctured! Belly hurt the worst. She didn't clamp it, and she said that was best. What was good about the tragus was she clamped it, so I felt the clamps, but not the needle. I want to get double microdermal hip piercings next.
