The cost of a body piercing varies depending on the location of the body being pierced, the type of piercing and the individual piercer.
Typical costs:
A body piercing typically costs $20 to $55 for earlobes, ear cartilage or cheek.
A body piecing typically costs $30 to $65 for the eyebrow, nose, navel or nipple.
A body piercing typically costs $40 to $85 or more for a medusa (a piercing above the lip), the tongue web or the surface of the body, such as at the nape of the neck.
Body piercings are considered cosmetic and are not covered by medical insurance. However, treatment for complications from a piercing, such as infection, would usually be covered.
The piercing artist will disinfect the area, then use a hollow needle to pierce the skin -- or cartilage -- and then insert the body jewelry. The piercer should provide detailed aftercare instructions based on the type of piercing.
Additional costs:
Piercing costs usually include basic body jewelry, but jewelry upgrades cost extra. The body jewelry used should be made of implant-grade materials.
Discounts:
Some piercers offer discounts for multiple piercings, repeat customers or groups.
Shopping for body piercings:
Make sure the piercing studio you choose is licensed by your local health department and follows meticulous health standards -- including the use of a properly functioning autoclave machine for sterilization, use of gloves and only using equipment from individual sterilized and sealed packages. They also should never use a piercing gun, since these cannot be properly sterilized. The Association of Professional Piercers offers a detailed guide on how to choose a reputable piercer and a search-by-state function.
Tip: Once you have located a studio, ask how long the piercer has been practicing and ask to see before-and-after photographs of previous work.
Body piercing risks include: blood-borne diseases, such as hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and HIV; allergic reactions, skin infections and scars or keloids, which are bumpy areas caused by a build-up of scar tissue. Oral piercings can cause dental problems, such as damage to gum tissue or cracked teeth.

Got it done on Friday the 13th so it was like buy one piercing get the other free (aka both nipples for the price of one $40). Worst pain I've ever felt in my life. I actually passed out. The more stressed out you are, the worse it will hurt bc the adrenaline pumping. Try to relax yourself. They're all healed up now and I absolutely love them! Worth it.
Ear lobe piercings at Claire's normal priced normal quality for a Claire's. Then an upper lobe piercing done at Walmart for their normal price. 2 helixs from the place I now regularly visit for $10 when the piercer was in training. A 3rd helix on my right ear for $20 when it was half priced. A nostril stud for $40. Then a ring for $40 and a 2nd ring for $40. Then I messed up went to a new place got a lip piercing for $43 that was crooked and had to take it out to get it redone in the near future. These prices don't include tips.
The inward hole hurts and am currently trying to clear the bump with sea salt mixed with chamomile. I am finally able to change the Jewelry after 8 weeks 😀

I got 3 dermals underneath my left collarbone, the first two were fine, just a lot of pressure but the third hurt a lot because it pushed against my collarbone. It was fast, maybe 15 min but everything was sterilized. I love them
I was nervous because who wants a 14 guage needle going through your skin? Hollow tube hurt so much that the pain was terrible. Definitely worth it though.
Got my septum pierced at Sadu Body Modifications in Charlotte. It was a great experience. Great starilization and the piercing didnt hurt at all! Even the healing process isn't terrible.
I got my nose pierced with a small gemstone titanium jewelry at Krazy kats last August. The piercer was excellent and it didn't really hurt, only bled for a few minutes. She gave me great aftercare instruction. I got it for more than a year ago and have changed the jewelries a couple of times since then.
The clamp was annoying so it took away concentration of the tiny sting of the needle. I had just turned 15 at the the time and I've had it for almost a year and it has healed fast and never given me any trouble. The only pain was when the piercer threaded the jewelry through. I plan to get dual microdermals in my hips next 😜😜
Soooooo painful . The piercer was awful and I went to a pretty reputable place . She had to be new . And when I went to get them out she wouldn't do it so I had to go to another parlor to get them taken out so add on another $60 . Totally wasn't worth it . The pain was insane and I was starving .
The only bad part to me was when he clamped the skin, i barely felt the needle go through. I had no problem with it afterwards because I would clean it everyday with sea salt & water. I now have had it for a year and it still is great :-)
It was totally overpriced to the point where it makes me sick but they did a really good job and it has healed so well. The price is the only downfall.
I didn't think it hurt, however it fell outthat same day and Iwent back it had already closed and re piercing through already irritated skin really hurts lol I went to revelation tattoo in Gladstone, they are very professional

Loved them. So far my navel is my favorite. I'm getting a barbell put through my stomach tomorrow and a dimple below my belly button. I really want my Industrial done though and my tongue
Got my tongue pierced at Rich Tattoos in Washington, NC wasn't painful at all and I ate normal foods the next day. Swelling wasn't bad and it healed really quickly.
