Dental is not considered medical because dentist dont train for a dozen years or more. a year degree will get them a license. So, why the HELL do they think they have a right to charge 15 grand for a days work(this the least expensive i found, and i'd have to drive across 3 states for that price)

Full Snap on upper and lower dentures w/ 8 implants

This is not for the weak of heart. You go through depression and takes forever. However, if you can go for the titanium implants after all teeth removed, get the removable snap on full dentures.

I had 19 teeth extracted, 8 implants surgically put in the jawbone. Lots of months of healing and wore temp full dentures. IT WAS HORRIBLE! They were for show only. Looked great but couldnt talk without a lisp or couldn't eat anything.

The upper palette drove me insane! I stayed home and only ate yogurt and liquid diet. I hardly word the bottoms. I also gagged everytime I wore the temp uppers! It was awful!

9 mths later finally time to be fitted for upper and lower dentures. The first time, dentist and lab made my teeth too big. I had them redo it 3x. Make sure you can close your lips over the teeth. Ask for a feminine denture with curved teeth. They turned out beautifully!

I am still having palette problems though. I am getting used to it. Have no choice!

Over the course of my work history, I have been very unfortunate to work with jobs with no insurance, or insurance that did not cover my needs, particularly when it came to dental. My current job provides decent insurance, but at my financial situation, I cannot afford to have insurance on the fact that every cent I get goes toward paying my bills and surviving on cheap can goods (spaghettios 10 cans for $10 at Fry's). I am now at the point that ALL of my teeth may need to be removed for implants, or just the standard false teeth. Ether way, I do not have the money to do what is needed. I do not ask and beg for help, but I see no other way to handle this problem, one that could affect my very health and life. Thank you to anyone and everyone that can help in this matter.

I went to Dental Company a small chain of dental service in Seville Spain and had a dentist with 10 years of experience do the job. I had a broken tooth and he extracted it and put in the implant in less than 25 minutes. He said I didn't need any bone graphing like the other crooks said. And this price included everything even panoramic xrays. But for some people it would be impractical to stay in Europe so long. This was the same price as Peru or Tijuana Mexico and much safer!

why is it only in america the dentist charge more than a surgeon. 10,000 dollars for mini implants to hold dentures inplace..gastric surgery 7,000..the hold procedure could have been done by a mechanic and a denturist could have made the dentures for around $300. dentist are a rip-off and when they make bad dentures you have no recourse..it is just money wasted..at least with a real doctor you can go back and have the job corrected not dentist..

I had 3 dental implants and two have been great, one has been a real problem. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Make sure the Dentist has extensive experience, make sure they do the proper test for bone depth and width. My problem was not enough bone width for the tooth that was causing problems. Do extensive research and get several evaluations before moving forward. The technology is advancing so what they did to me to years ago has since been improved.

I am more upset about people posting that you have to be wealthy to have dental care in this country or an insurance policy. Wealth would take care of most people's problems - no argument there. However, all of this garbage about healthcare insurance being the answer for all of life's medical and dental problems is total bull. Most healthcare plans that some people see as a piggy bank are PAID BY THE EMPLOYEES! Instead of spending our money on designer purses, shoes, movie tickets, sports events or concerts - we pay for life's necessities. We rarely take a one week vacation and some of us have NEVER taken a two week vacation in 45 years!

If you want socialism or a healthcare system based on socialism where everyone pays the same - rest assured you will not like the results. If you want excellent dental care - drop your cable or cell phone plans for a year or more and you will have the money!

I recently went to a new dentist after my last one not only botched my root canal a couple years ago but my moms last year. I had the root canal done and a year later the tooth became so infected I had to have it pulled. Now years later I need an implant and my insurance won't cover anything but the crown at 50%. My new dentist is wonderful but I don't know what I can afford it.

I have allowed a dentist to swindle my insurance company out of more than $8000, promised a perfect smile and all I got was teeth shaved down to the point they are breaking from being crowned to a very weak core. I am to the point I crazy glue my broken crowns on to be able to speak for work. I have 6 upper teeth and 8 lower teeth left and they are not in good condition. I need help! I went to the EON clinic and was told I was a good person for the full implants which made me so happy, then they told me the price I left crying. I am far from rich, I have even tried volunteering on craig's list here and other countries, still no luck. I have contacted dental schools and ADA and no response. I am not going to give up because this is something I need not just want. God will make a way and touch someone who can or will help me. Pray for me please and agree I will get my implant. Thank you in advance.

Which Tooth: All
At 45 the 26 teeth I had left were removed. I had the standard Acrylic Denture placed in. I greatly miss my pearlie whites, they were so beautiful before illness known as Sjogren's attacked my saliva glands.. I do recall many a dentist stating: "Wow, you really put another dentist's kid through school" No, not pleased to hear a professional speak to me in that way. Yet, why were my teeth doing this..Low and behold it was from the Sjorgrens syndrome. Why didn't the professional catch this ? I took care of my teeth I went to the dentist regularly. Not to any fault of my own for sure. I was slap happy to receive my new Acrylics and glad I could smile again. I chose to go for implants now. Yes, shock ! sticker shock that is. It floored me so badly I couldn't stop weeping for days.. Yet, it has not stopped me from viewing through the intranet & dble cking out other Periodontist. I agree, I live once and I will make payments for these new babies I'll be getting, when the $ amount is right. Do your due diligence and do not stop looking for the right Periodontist and the right price. In Mexico, $17,500.00 now that's bargining power for ya... I refuse to cry in my soup. When I wept earlier in my comments. I wept over frustration and feeling like I was shoved into a corner.. Well, I do not do well in corners, I look for a way to work it. I do feel & have compassion for those of you whom feel they are without hope in this matter. I hope you find resoucefulness in your creativeness to move forward for what you so deserve. With much warmth and compassion rnMrs. G. rnP.S. I do not want my Implans for free.. I want them at a fair and honest price !!!

Which Tooth: Top front three
Before I joined the military Medicad pair for my front teeth to be removed, they would have paid some of the cost of the partial as well but since I was joining the military the dentist recommended I get it done through the military. well I've been in for almost six years and all they have done is made a flipper and a lot of promises they never held up to. Oh but I missed my last appointment due to court but now it's all my fault that they havnt fixed my teeth. rnThe military does implants but I'm a smoker so it's out of the question. And there is no way prove to them if you did quit.rnSo now I'm taking out a loan to get a perminat partial and since I just had exrays done at the military my dentist said it would save me $150 if I brought them. Well I called and the military clinic said they couldn't help me with that what a joke.

Dental Implants

Which Tooth: 13 Implants
I am 32 years old and have been suffering with dental issues since I was a child. I can not afford dental implants in the United States, it is over priced. My wife has a lot of family in the Dominican Republic. She introduced me to a friend of hers who has her own dental practice. I first had a bad tooth extracted. Then I had a bone graph done. Then I had 13 implants put in. Before returning to the United States, she made me some dentures to have while the implants settle/heal. I just went back a month ago and had the work all finished. I needed 13 porcelain crowns, a bridge and another tooth extracted because it decayed. I now had a nice set of teeth and I am going back to have the final implant completed because of that decayed tooth that was removed. Hardly any pain, just the little pinch from the needles. That's it. I felt comfortable because she was a friend of my wife and very professional. The only bad part is you need to know Spanish or have a translator.

I am 25 years old. I was born with a calcium defeciency. My first set of teeth came in bad and I had to wear silver caps until my adult teeth came in. Now most of my teeth are bad and preventing me from getting work. I dont have good enough credit for these dental loans they have out here. I have run out of options since I cannot even afford dentures and honestly I hate to think of what it would be like to take my teeth out at night or having them slip while I am out or working. It is truly upsetting how people like me get judged. I took good care of my teeth but unfortunately I was meant to end up like this. I have been researching for years how to get implants and have come up with nothing that I can afford. I am in pain constantly and wish I could post something helpful for someone in this position.

I had my top teeth extracted in Sept, 2009, got a temp plate, yet did not receive my permanent plate until March 2012!!! Besides that, I am a 30 yr diabetic and was told that I was a perfect candidate for implants, as long as jaw bone was good and it was. He said that healing may take longer and infection watch would be greater, but that a diabetic makes no difference as to his 98% success rate, including diabetics!! Low and behold, the implants were finally removed in June, 2012, after infection after infection after infection. He never took an x-ray or told me about having them cleaned. Just kept fitting me for the permanent plate that was so over due. I took out a $10,000 loan and he was paid $2000 by my insurance. I have paid $5,500 in loan payments and still owe over $6,000 to the loan over the next three years!! I am a single mom with 2 kids etc but thought this was that important. Now, he never returned my calls, so I wrote him a letter to ask what happens now?No repl

My mother-in-law is in the process of getting implants now. I am in shock at what a dentist can get away with! She was told her entire procedure could be done for $30,000 - $40,000 (half price)if he could film it being done because he was teaching in another country. After the procedure was started she was told there was more work than he thought & it will now cost $70,000 - $80,000. Keep in mind this is to be half price. Since it was already started she continued. Then one of the posts went into her sinus cavity when inserted. Almost a year later she is still dealing with sinus infections and constant drainage. She's been told they can't put teeth on that upper side now but no discount in price. This whole experience has been unbelievable to me.

I am thankful that I had the money to do it with, however, look at the number of folks who can no way afford this insanity. How in the world can my replacing 7 teeth (bridge for 5 on 19 & 22 and 2 on 6 & 7) be so expensive?

It seems to me that there is no rhyme or reason to what you pay for these implants. Back in 2005 I paid 4,000 for an implant and crown. I had another implant started but it did not take...non refundable $1700. Now I need 3 more implants. I have two kids in college and I'm a single mom. I'm going to have to opt for the partial dentures until I save up enough money.

I hear some complaints from Dentists here that what they are charging is fair. Well, there are two types of Dentists... those who will work out a plan for those with little money and those who won't. There are hard working people walking around in this country with missing teeth or old-fashioned dentistry. If you fall into the latter category, there is no excuse... if some can be charitable, then all can! I need four implants or bridges and some other work. I am about to go searching for a dentist who will allow me to make small payments on the amount that is not covered by my insurance. I am willing to spread the work out over several years.rnrnOne dentist generously helped me with one dental problems some time ago but made it clear it was a one-time deal. I pray that I will find someone to help me. It would be tragic to have to spend the remainder of my life alone because dentistry is not affordable.

I encourage everone looking for an affordable way to get implants to do some research on dental studies. I just got into a study at the University of North Carolina Dental School that is giving me full upper implants for on $5000.00. The cost at full price there would be $25,000. This study is full but there are more out there and you would have to meet the conditions of the individual study but they are available. I started saving for dentures a while ago and while I was saving I was also searching and found this study. For this study the $5,000 covers everything from tooth removal to the implants and takes about a year from start to finish with 5 yrs of follow up. I just wanted everyone to know that there is hope out there. Good luck to you all!

Which Tooth: Upper and Lower Molars
I'm a prime candidate for dental implants as I have lost most of my upper and lower molars. My tooth loss is progressing slowly but steadily toward the front and is a big concern to me. I have dental insurance but it seems they consider implants to be cosmetic and will not cover most of the cost. Apparently you need to be wealthy in this country in order to have a healthy smile even if you are lucky enough to have insurance. Shame on the insurance companies and our whole damn health system!
