Four wisdom teeth removed
Amount: $846.00
Posted by: Amy_157 in Southern Ontario, Canada, Other.Posted: May 24th, 2015 06:05PM
When I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed, I didn't have dental insurance. The total cost was over $800 and that included all four wisdom teeth(one had to be split in half) and general anesthetic.

Article is way off
Amount: $950.00
Posted by: tboe in Charlotte, NC.Posted: May 2nd, 2015 05:05PM
Which Tooth: wisdom and molar
This article is way off. I personally contacted over 40 dental surgeons across the US and gum-line wisdom extractions were $800-$1200 per-tooth, and gum-line molar extractions were $500-800 per tooth. That's without complications like impacts too. That was with AND without insurance.
Also, I have "the best" dental insurance in the country and it only covers 50% of a procedure tops after a $1,800 deductible..

Which Tooth: Next to wisdom tooth on the bottom left
Tooth extracted on the bottom left, close to wisdom tooth. There wasn't enough bone to support an implant, therefore the oral surgeon planted bone graft in the mentioned area. The whole procedure took about 45 mins all under sedation.

Check Insurance and Itemize
Amount: $759.00
Posted by: Ouchless in VALENCIA, CA.Posted: January 21st, 2015 05:01PM
Which Tooth: 15 & 16
My insurance covered extraction with co-pay of 28 dollars per tooth. (15 cracked, 16 was impacted wisdom tooth in the way). $56 for extraction and $700 for bone graft and and covering membrane. Insurance covered nothing for those items which seem usual and common to me. I'll see if insurance can reimburse at all.

I went to Las Algodones, Baja California, Mexico, apx. 13 miles from Yuma, Arizona. I heard there are over 800 dentists, not sure, but there are a lot. I can't pick 2014 below, but I had this done in December 2014.

Surgical tooth extraction
Amount: $1,300.00
Posted by: Cab411 in Paso robles, CA.Posted: August 12th, 2014 06:08AM
Which Tooth: 5 teeth
I had my wisdom teeth plus one bad molar surgically extracted. I have PPO dental insurance and I didn't go to a in network surgeon, but $1300 for 5 extractions wasn't bad. I HIGHLY recommend being put under IV to extract more than one tooth. I had two other bad molars extracted awake and it was a horrible experience. Plus it only costs like $400 more to be put under and get them all done at once.

Tooth Extraction
Amount: $160.00
Posted by: Frazier in Greenville, SC.Posted: May 1st, 2014 10:05AM
Which Tooth: Left Front Tooth
X-ray, exam and extraction of left front tooth. It had previously been broken pretty near the gumline, but there was enough for him to grab onto. This was with 1 day's notice, new dentist.
Previous dentist wanted $500 when I called, with no guarantee of being able to pull that tooth. It pays to check around!
This dentist used to be an Army dentist and may be more pragmatic about how to deal with problems. I already wear a bridge so no prosthetic was necessary.
