Which tooth/teeth: All
No dental insurance, had all four wisdom teeth removed with general anesthetic. I was told If I didn't go under that I would have been $1,600. Had it done with a plastic surgery surgeon.

Paid for the consultation and xrays ($111) and paid half of the total cost of removal (insurance paid the other half including half of the general anesthetic and IV)
Felt it was a fair price.

Which tooth/teeth: 4 wisdom
Two impacted, two erupted. local anesthetic. $150 per tooth. My dentist was an American dentist practicing in Tijuana, Mexico. He used my plasma and injected it into the holes for healing. I have felt great, healing is great. They also gave me two shots for pain, supposed to work for 12 hours. They definitely did help. Overall i think the flu is worse than getting my wisdom teeth out. Do your research and you can find good medical and dental in Mexico. Especially if the Doctors/Dentists are from the U.S.

Which tooth/teeth: bottom right "third molar"
I simply can't afford a regular dentist and so I went to the Dental School at our local university when my Wisdom Tooth broke and became VERY painful. The extraction was $40 and the x-ray, "inspection," and "freezing" needles were $20. Two senior students did the work under the watchful gaze of the presiding Dentist/Teacher and even though it turned out to be more work than initially anticipated (the tooth cracked and it had 3 "stubborn" roots,) the final bill was $60.
If you need this kind of special work done, I advise you to look for a Dental School to see if they have a similar program.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Amount: $936.00
Posted by: [email protected] in Swansea, MA.Posted: November 18th, 2014 05:11PM
Which tooth/teeth: All 4 wisdom teeth.
3 of the 4 wisdom teeth were already erupted while 1 was a soft tissue impaction (1/2) out. Retail price on 3 erupted were 285.00 a piece, the soft tissue one was 350.00 because it's still somewhat buried so harder to get I guess. After my insurance the 3 ended up being 132.00 per tooth and that difficult one 165.00. After anthestesia and everything it was 936.00 vs 1885.00 without insurance! 50% savings. Wish I had my old provider because they covered 80%...what are you gonna do?

Honestly I think dentistry is a complete rip off! Its something you need to have and yet your insurance doesn't pay for anything! My daughter just went to the dentist and HE said that her wisdom teeth needed to come out, so we made an appointment for that and I just received a call that it will cost us $645.00... Dues at time of service! I;m sorry, but if the dentist is requesting the procedure, why wouldn't it be covered???

Which tooth/teeth: bottom left, #17 I think
Had an infection on this particular partially erupted tooth. Got a cleaning & antibiotics because I was too scared to get an extraction done. The wait worked out though because I was able to compare prices and level of care from 5 diff sources. Also by this time my infection had cleared up (desirable for extraction). The price includes initial consultation, sedation and extraction by a well reputed oral surgeon. It would have me cost $250 if I had let my insurance cover some costs and let my hmo dentist handle it. And that is without sedation Yes, it still boggles the mind that my dentist charges two times more! Shop around and check doc backgrounds, you might be surprised.

900 for 3 teeth (after a small discount for getting all 3 at once). rn400 for anaesthesia.rn1600 for hospital day (not overnight)rnI have extras covered, so it's only 550 off of the 900. I have no hospital cover, but it would have been half off (so 200 + 800). Having hospital cover is expensive as hell though.

You should know that upper wisdom teeth are usually easy to extract and heal well.rnrnBut lower wisdom teeth have 4 roots, are near a nerve, deeper in bone and cost 3 or 4 times as much to remove and are more likely to have complications.

Woke up with a pain in my back tooth one night and was seen the next morning. I was told it was my lower right wisdom tooth. I ended up having all four removed during surgery. The cost included my surgery, local anesthetic, and my post-op visit. I don't have insurance so I had to pay out of pocket.
