I went to emergency room in extreem abdominal pain.they asked for urine sample and gave me pain medication in IV and took me for ct scan.they only did scan with contrast so they had nothing to compare scan to, no before and after pictures.in other words scan was useless. except for billing purposes.cost was almost $7000.$400.for pain medication. $200 for unine sample $389 for doctor to write a perscription that I didn't need. No diagnosis was made.and urine sample was still sitting on the sink when I left all this took over 9 hours. If our government can't regulate and monitor the outragous costs hospitals are charging insurance and medicare/aide then I fail to see how any program works which involves U.S. government.I have no problem paying a reasonable price but I refuse to pay for a criminal action. extorting money from people and bilking insurance companies is still illegal right? or is it an accepted "doing business as usual" |

Had abdominal pain that went on for three days, thought that it was an infection, no fever, no vomit, just wanted antibiotics they insisted on two x rays that showed no swelling in my appendictis then lost 3 of 7 blood tests then after two doctors coming on and off duty asking the same questions giving different answers and without asking me ordered a CT, then told me that they could do nothing there and wanted to ship me by ambulance to Albuquerque 110 miles away for observation. After four hours sitting their I realized they had no idea what they were doing and left. Now I feel much better except for the phone call from Presbyterian telling me that I owe them over $8,ooo.oo and when can I come in and pay it!!! |

Don't forget the charge from the radiologist. That was in addition to the charge from the hospital. |

Had ct scan, ekg, ecko cardiogram, many blood tests and 3 nights stay in Normah in Kuching, Malaysia. Total cost was 3000 MYR or $900 US! They do not take insurance so this is one reason the cost is what it is. We in US need to throw the insurance companies under the bus and pay cash as they do. Condition was "Blue Toe Syndrome." |

Visited ER after having mild to moderate chest pain and soreness for over a day. I had an EKG/ECG, enzymes test and cardiac monitoring---all negative. The physician ordered my admission for overnight stay in the hospital for heart monitoring, stress test and nuclear medicine (CT Scan with contrast). The result was negative for all tests. Source of pain was likely a sore chest muscle not the heart. |

ZERO STARS!!! My best friend went to St Rose Dominican hospital with the same type of problem, suspected food poisoning. He was unemployed at the time and had no imsurance they too gave him a CT Scan and eneded up diagnosing him with "The Flu" (Gastroenteritis) gave him a prescription for antibiotics, and billed him almost $12,000.00! I too thought it must be a mistake but no, that's the bill!! What can be done about this outrageous over billing for the FLU!! |

I was shocked to hear that my CT Angiogram was going to cost me $1300. I haven't even had surgery yet. They did however offer a discount if paid in full, over-the-phone, prior to appointment but what a way to start the day. Unfortunately I don't have much choice in getting the procedure or not. |

I have paid them $600 thus far and refuse to pay any more for a number of reasons. I was not informed of the cancer risk from CT Scan exposure. I didn't have any noticeable symptoms that would have warranted this invasive diagnostic exposure. I was probably charged more since I had no insurance. |
