why are women not covered for hormones? Men get help with testosterone and other things? Another question why is it so expensive? It is unreachable for most working women.I have searched the internet for affordable places.Nothing.I JUST NEED MY HORMONES BALANCED .

Insurance:: Live well meds discount card
This live well meds discount card, look it up on Internet, costs me about 30.00 a month and pays 30 to 40 percent of my meds. It helps me out a lot because uhc doesn't cover compound meds. I agree that they help men with their little problems but women can't get help. They have no idea how dis functional a woman can get with depletion of these vital hormones. Sb

Kaiser will not cover HRT meds for women because it is "normal aging" and will only prescribe anti-depressants! But they do cover meds for erectile dis function "normal aging"! This is discrimination!

my Blue Cross Blue Shield healthkeepers has denied to help assist in any of the prescriptions, which include by is estrogen cream testosterone cream and progesterone capsules. Many other patients that I speak with from the local area that go to the same physicians have insurance policies that pay for all of it. I'm self employed so I have a private policy with premiums of 460 dollars a month. I'm not going to be able to continue with the therapy and I was starting to feel so much better.

Kaiser won't prescribe the bio-identical hormones so it's up to me to find a doctor for that. So far, with this new dr.....$285, and it's only been 3 mos. Looks as if he'll rake in $85 every three months from now on. The hormones cost $114 for 3 months. ISN'T THERE A DOCTOR AROUND THAT WON'T GOUGE WOMEN WHO WANT TO TAKE THE BIO IDENTICAL HORMONES?!!!

I opted to use the bioidentical HRT. Insurance will not cover, even though it is preventative. THat cost has now risen due to policy changes with the facility. I will have to discontinue. Funny, that insurance will cover penis pumps.

even though the vaginal estrace and vagifem is the cure to repair my VERY painful atrophy,it is insane how much it costs...luckily i found a wallgreens who compounded it for $30.00,but nobody seems to care about this condition and i would like to know how to become an activist for low cost essential hormones.I would like to add that after doing all the research myself i found that if you go on the manufacturers website there is sometimes a patient assistance discount

Cost of HRT/Unecessary Testing

For a 3 month supply of HRT"S I am spending lass than $30. Both generic. I have a friend who had similar prescription, not generic for the cost of $200. Any wonder our healthcare costs are ridiculously high. I've been on this for a long time and do not recall having my blood tested. It was more or less prescribed according to how well it worked.
I am waiting results from lab to see if my toenail fungus is toenail fungus. Looks like all the pix I've seen but the Dr. insisted the nails be analyzed.
