Rhinoplasty Cost

How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost?

 average costAverage: $4,500. Range: $3,000-$12,000

The cost of getting a nose job (rhinoplasty) varies, depending on the surgeon's skill and experience, the type and complexity of the surgical sculpture, and regional cost differences.

Typical costs:

  • Rhinoplasty costs $3,000-$12,000 or more.
  • The average cost for the complete procedure is $4,500.
Related articles: Breast Augmentation, Tummy Tuck, Liposuction

What should be included:
  • The total fee for a rhinoplasty includes surgical, anesthetic, and facility costs. Anesthesia fees range from $600-1000, facility fees range from $700-1100, and the remainder is the surgical cost.
  • The surgeon's fee is the most costly aspect of a nose job, and it is also the most difficult to estimate because it varies based on skill, training, experience, and other factors.
Additional costs:
  • Patients may need to pay for medication after the surgery is complete.
  • According to The Plastic Surgery Resource Network[1] , some plastic surgeons require an initial non-refundable consultation fee.
Discounts:
  • Your insurance company may cover some of the cost of the nose job if the procedure is related to altering the nasal passage to improve breathing or to address some other medical necessity. Ask your surgeon about filing for insurance. Insurance does not cover nose jobs for purely cosmetic reasons.
  • The American Society of Plastic Surgeons[2] provides more information on health insurance coverage.
Shopping for rhinoplasty:
  • If the cost for your rhinoplasty is more than you can afford to pay at once, ask your surgeon if monthly payment plans are available.
  • Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon from the American Board of Plastic Surgery who has extensive experience performing rhinoplasties and other areas of facial plastic surgery. You can search for one by geographic region on A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Resource. Though they typically charge higher fees, these surgeons have all undergone intensive surgical training and can help ensure that you receive the best possible treatment.

Cost for Rhinoplasty
Amount: $5,250.00
Posted by: [email protected] in Tracy, CA.Posted: July 10th, 2008 07:07PM
I spent $4000.00 for Rhinoplasty which did not include $800.00 for the surgical center and $350.00 for the anesthesiologist. The doctor does have ownership in the surgical center.
Dr Peter Chi in Tracy performed the surgery.
