Dental Crown Cost - Buyer Experiences and Price InformationDental Crown CommentsPage 7 of 9 - << Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Next >> From fillings to crowns Amount: $2,540.00 Posted by: laurenkelley15 From: Portsmouth, VAPosted On: June 5th, 2015 04:06PMWhich Tooth: #30,31,3 Type of Crown: Porcelain Originally went in for old composites to get redone for the right side of my mouth, he nearly drilled all the way down to my nerve on teeth 30-31. He said there was decay and it was deeper than he anticipated, so he said I needed crowns. I was left in a complicated situation since he had already drilled these big holes in my teeth so I felt pressured to get them. After he put my temporary crowns in, he said "I hope your teeth don't get sensitive, cause then we'd need to do a root canal since it is fairly close to your nerve." I honestly feel duped. I was not intending on paying over $300 on my visit since that was my original treatment plan for 5 resin composites w insurance. Cost was: $1825/2 porcelain crowns, $480/2 core build ups, $210/composite. Out of pocket I paid $830 w insurance & the left side of my mouth hasn't been touched yet. Sat in my chair from 10 am-4pm & had about 6-8 shots of lidocaine during procedure.
Northern IL/Southern WI out of pocket HUGE dental tooth fix

upcharging by dentist
Amount: $1,500.00 Posted by: Doc 99.99 His tooth was bothering him so a WI dentist filled the tooth for $627 then disappeared while my son was agonizing in pain over a 4 day weekend. No response when called for help with pain. NO RETURN CALL! He must be a sadist. Of course, had to find an endodontist to get the root canal-that was in Northbrook, IL and cost $1400. Now on to the crown. Found a coupon deal at a different place. Still not done with this one tooth fix and already over $2k out of pocket not to mention the time dump. What I want to know is, how does the average joe come up with this kind of CASH? Most places offering this kind of expensive anything usually offer a loan or some alternative to paying for such a huge expense. What an incredible racket these extortionists have going. Screwed if you do, screwed if you don't. From: Celina, TXPosted On: May 27th, 2015 04:05AMWhich Tooth: side tooth Type of Crown: porc Dentist have become obnoxious with UPCHARGING. After all that I had temporary crowns? I had to go back the week after. So this was a trip I had to travel back and forth. My returning day I wasn't even in the office for half hour and I was done.but let me not forget to mention I also had a missing tooth on bottom. So 4 porcelain on top,6 emax on bottom and SUPPOSENLY emax was more expensive because it holds stronger, replaced a missing tooth and 2 root canals for$4,900. But sad to say bout 2-3 months ago my top front chipped and Monday March16 my crown popped off😞

Amount: $4,900.00 Posted by: just solo From: phx, AZPosted On: March 21st, 2015 07:03PMWhich Tooth: top front 4,bottom front 6 Type of Crown: porcelain/emax My story is quite interesting. In March 2014 I went out of my way to Algodones,Baja California. Had to get passport which cost me $65.00. Didn't have to wait to receive it in mail,I was able to use my receipt as proof of passport. Left on a Saturday early morning,5 a.m. and arrived exactly 7 a.m. as soon as we entered I had an appointment to Alberta dentist. After exam,no xrays, I was told all my teeth were cracked, didn't need dentures nor did I want them. I also had a tooth missing on the bottom and one about to come out. Overall I was looking at 13,000. So my price kept on going down to where I felt comfortable. With the procedures I had done that same morning,$2,900 I put down,I was in surgery all morning till about 1:00 p.m. I had 2 root canals done, top and bottom, couldn't tell you how many shots I got. I'm going to say 10-14. Any little pain I felt I tugged on the dentist and they would shoot me up. After root canals,I had to do moldings. My mouth was so tired from being open .

I believe dentists are making a killing on these crowns.

Insurance covered all but 325.00. I went back for the crown prep and was advise by dentist that a Lava crown would be required on both the doctor quoted $375.00 after I approved I was shocked to get a statement for 1471.00 $425.00 for each crown $195.00 for a post 200.00 for medication 855.00 for root canal redo. What's bad is I had one done in the from a year ago the total cost was $325.00 My brother in law is a dental lab tech and told me the lava crown normally cost the dentist around 195.00 to 200.00 and cost him only about 96.00 in materials and time to make. What a racket $1676.00 for 2 hours labor. I thought Morticians were rip offs but dentists are right up there on the list. I will probably switch dentists when my open enrollment comes around.

Amount: $1,153.00 Posted by: John Z I remember when I got these they said they would last forever, that is until you get in your 60's. All my teeth hurt, it would $4000. Plus to just have my teeth pulled and $1800. For lower and $2400. For upper dentures. The dentist says no keep your teeth, it's better, but they don't live with the hurt and not to mention very embarrassed dis colored and rotting teeth. There is no help here in the USA, not even with the dental schools. Their prices are close to the same as real dentists in the area around the school. I would almost pay someone $500 the knock the crap out of my mouth. Dental in America it's useless and Dental insurance is worse. They only pay 50% of a crown and max out at $1000.
