Had an almost 10 year old crown that formed an abscess. Chose to have extracted with bone graft to eventually get an implant. Original quote $1,760 but he took pity on an ER nurse with no dental insurance and discounted to $986.
FOR ANYONE THINKING OF GOING TO MEXICO CUZ ITS CHEAPER.....don't. In the ER here we have had plenty of patients coming into ER with issues after!

Even with supplemental dental coverage insurance pays almost nothing for the treatment. They pay $500, I pay $4000. Seems my insurance coverage may only be equal to or less than what I've paid in insurance premiums.

The procedure was painful and was not covered by insurance. I don't think the dentist used enough lidocaine. I felt traumatized afterward.

Why do they tell you $5500 but if you have 'any kind' of insurance it's only $2800? And the bone graft mesh is $895 for each piece and I need two ... what is that mesh (maybe 3/4 inch square?) so damned expensive? So I'm holding off right now.

The costs are getting insanely high and some of this includes their fancy 3D imaging $550 they are charging. I don’t even have the temp or the final crown yet. I feel like crying. It’s been 6 months since the extraction and more to go. I had a mesh put in after extraction but needed a more extensive graft and titanium plate after the implant was placed because there wasn’t enough bone. The implant cost was 2250.

Haven’t gone to a dentist since moving to town a year ago and was supposed to have my first cleaning here and checking out an occasionally painful tooth when it started really acting up.
Specialist saw me next day instead for the retained baby tooth (I had 4 total but the other 3 are fine) that had been acting up and moved cleaning back a few weeks. My past dentists have all said this one tooth would need to go eventually. Xrays and half of extraction covered. Graft wasn’t covered but thankfully I have an HSA my last company contributed to so I just used that. Plan is to get an implant in a few months, hopefully after a promotion and better insurance. Although dentist let me know my sinus bone is pretty close to the implant site so I may need a procedure to add more headroom.
If it’s going to be too expensive and I don’t have better insurance in a few months, I’ll save and go down to Los Algodones in Mexico for it.

My dentist was e. Excellent I had quit a bit of swelling yes pain but took the medicine as advised after two weeks I was feeling much better I continue to take the antibiotics. My stitches will come out in two weeks. This was the first of two surgeries . The total cost will be $26 303.00 this is with two dentist implants crown partial upper xrays tooth extraction.

First thing they did was get a completed full mouth x-ray at a cost of $300.00. I know my dentist already has a full mouth set of x-rays so this raised a red flag and I will discuss this with my dentist.
In the extraction phase of the two teeth the charge is 2326.00 total, this includes "socket preservation".
I also need a retainer made something they call a Partial Q-Osseous, but I also see here charges for emdogain and bone graft? I thought this was already covered in the "socket preservation" phase! WTH! This adds another another $850.00.
Finally, the last phase, is the implant cost, 1910.00 per tooth. I see ranges for 999.99 and up to 2999.99 this looks to be in the middle.
This does not cover the final process of putting a "crown" on the tooth, which the periodontist states the dentist can do. That's probably another 1000.00.
This visit to the periodontist reminds me of taking my vehicle in for repairs. Another place where people get taken advantage of.

Excellent Doctor, put cadaver and phase 1 which I say the nut. Took maybe two hours. If your Squamish about pain then don’t do I. I can take a lot better pain then most. Healing from taking my stitches out was three days. I’m still healing inside. It’s going slow but maybe April he’ll put the implant in. Then around Nov 2019 crown. I’m getting another pulled number 25 with Graft on Nov 21 2018. Right before Thanksgiving hey its free

12 teeth (upper) extracted. Felt pain of every tooth being pulled. Worse Dental experience ever. Had Novocain and Laughing gas. Told dentists I was in pain and she just kept shooting more Novocain into my gums. Told a total of 5 hours.
I hate dentist and dental insurance. Had a great Dentist for 10 years until insurance took him from the Network! Total cost for 8 bone Graft, 12 extractions, temp dentures, X-rays =$10,500

Wife had CRT day before for $10 (friend paid out of pocket $250 out of pocket at same clinic). We've know that she needed to have her wisdom teeth removed. Our insurance covers up to $2K for procedures every year. While there doctor determined that less then 1 mm of bone on lower jaw from wisdom tooth coming in sideways. Was told that if that pocket not filled in then a possibility exists that at sometime her other tooth next to it could be compromised at some point down the road.

The choices seem to be denture appliance or if you have money you can get a bone graft, and implants if you want no metal in your mouth then choose, Zirconium with is porcelain implant with porcelain screws. I had five bone grafts cost 5800and will get five implants the city dentist gave me an estimate of 45000 crazy. We are going to go the medical tourism route find a reputable dentist outside the country that is educated in U.S and their are a few, and we are going to fly and have it done, take a vacation and enjoy the money we saved. One day struck up a conversation with phlebotomist and she had gone to some denture place and the doctor there did her bone graft and her dental implants of course they had metal in it, and it was really inexpensive, but she did not get the first rate place like we did so that matters to me , but her face was really swollen I was stunned she was not at home resting, she was glad it was finally over and that the dental thing was affordable.

As a result of taking the drug Fosamax for 5 years ending in 2010, my teeth and jawbone have deteriorated dramatically in many ways-most recently front lower jaw became too narrow to support teeth. 4 teeth pulled, grafting to make jaw wider - grafts were not covered at all. Total Cost for procedure was almost $11,000. Note that Fosamax was found to have caused bone loss - especially mandible and thigh bones, and that the effects continue more than 10 years after ceasing taking the drug.

I was looking at a surgery cost of $4,000 - 6,000.
He wanted $10,000. The way I feel that was way over the cost. Where the Bone was suppose to go was on the top by my Sinus (left & right). The bone was very thin, so for them to Screw in, they needed to have it thicker. I wish I could show you the X-Ray, but I don't have it. If you have any questions, please contact me. I'm 70 years old and I need Top and Bottom, "Screw in Teeth".

I have two teeth that need to come out asap. The future plan is partials so which is a $5k quote.
I'm missing so many teeth Already yet never had a bone graft. However I see that it's necessary at this point. I think it's a very fair price. Cash price. It would've been triple otherwise. I go in this week to have this done.

Tooth broke. Periodontist told me it had to be extacted. Which he did. I was charged $2700 for the extraction and a bone graft which was not mentioned in advance. Seems like a lot. The whole thing didn't take more than 20 minutes.

This better be necessary. I didnt really like the story one of the dental assistants gave me about how that tooth has long roots and its close to some major nerve that could render the left side of my face paralyzed by the oral surgeon if not grafted. All the while pointing to the full mouth xray that was xeroxed onto a sheet of paper and not clear at all. In fact it was double imaged and overlapping and blurry

Had to have a molar extracted. It had a crown. My gums had receded, exposing some of the root. Got a cavity on the root. Some pain. My general dentist said the X-ray showed infection in the root area. He filled the cavity. Returned to dentist a month later. Dentist recommended extraction due to infection. Oral surgeon did extraction (covered by insurance) and bone graft (not covered). He said bone graft needed to be done at same time as extraction. It was necessary to support implant or dentures. Charged me $425 (Care Credit). Paperwork says actual charge is $1113 and I got a discount of $688. I am a Medi-Cal patient with state covered insurance through Liberty Dental. Not sure I trust anyone in this process, but I am grateful for the benefits I receive.

Bone Graft cost $545 and is not covered by insurance. The office visit was $119 plus I had a molar extracted (#15) and that was $345 covered 50% by insurance. The Periodontist was very thorough, explained the procedure well and I was confident I was in good hands.
